For PE, we were doing swimming unit. For swimming unit, we learned how some swims are called. There was one that was called freestyle which is when you swim across to the other side. When she told us to backstroke, we had to swim on our backs. We also did the frog swim, which is where you open your legs and close them when you start swimming. We also did diving. When you dived, you had to know how to stand in the proper place so you don't hurt yourself.
We are currently doing gymnastics. In gymnastics, we are doing the basic stuff for doing a handstand. First, we did stretches. Our stretches are to reach forward and try to touch your legs. (we had to sit down). After we touched our legs, we had to pick our waists up so they don't touch the ground. Then we did them again a few more minutes. After we did our stretches, we do the log roll. The log roll is where you lay down straight and roll to your left or right. After we do the log roll a few times, we do the tuck roll. The tuck roll is where you sit down and hold your feet so they don't come apart and then you go back and come up again without taking yourself apart. We do the tuck roll many different ways so we can after do the next thing. Then we do the upward plank. The upward plank is where you pull yourself up( kind of getting ready for a handstand) and you put your leg folded and you jump so your other foot can be straight. After that, we do the frog stand. The frog stand is a practice to keep your hands from not wiggling. Then we try to stand on our heads and pick our feet up so they don't touch the ground. That is what we are learning in gymnastics.

Tennis
In the unit we are doing right now is tennis. Tennis is a sport that is very active and that you have to pay attention so you won't get hit by the ball. We are learning how to do forehand and backhand. Forehand is when you hit the ball frontwards and backhand is when you it the ball, but your hands are turned to the right a little. We are also learning how to hit, so what we do is hit a towel. You have to get with a partner and one of you are going to hit and the other is going to get the towel so the other person can hit it.We are also learning how to hit a ball with the racket. We are getting three people on one side of the court and seven people on the other side. the three people on the other are throwing the tennis balls and the other people are hitting the tennis balls inside the court. When they hit it over, you have to go to the end of the line.
I learned a lot in tennis. I learned how to do a forehand and a backhand. I also learned how to hit the ball with the racket using forehand and backhand. I also learned how to ht the ball inside the court without the ball going out of the court. I also learned how to hit appropriately with the racket. I also learned how to play a real game of tennis. There are a lot of rules, but it is very easy to play. The tools we are using are a tennis ball, a tennis racket, and the teacher.

Volleyball
In PE, we are learning the basic skills of volleyball. We are learning how to throw the ball and how to hit the ball. I am very well on both, but when I hit the ball my hands get really red. We are also practicing how to throw a ball to someone so they can hit it. We are also learning how to put our hands so we can hit the ball better. There are two ways to do it. One is to put your palm on top of each other and line up your thumbs vertical. The other way is to put a hand over each other and line up your thumbs. We have also learned how to pass the ball to each other without hitting the floor. First we get into groups of four, then one of the people is the thrower, the other is the hitter, and the other two are the people who get the ball when it goes far. We each get to have a chance to be a thrower, catchers, and a hitter.
In this unit, I learned many new skills in volleyball. First of all, I learned how to place our hands so we don't have to get broken fingers. I also learned how to throw a ball high and how not to throw a low ball. I also learned how to do a throw and then set and then throw it to the other person. I also learned how to play a real game with other people. I also learned how to serve ina real game. I learned that in volleyball you have to pay attention to not get hit by the ball. That is what I learned in volleyball.

Jump Rope
The unit we are learning right now is jump rope. We are learning the basic skills on how to jump rope. We have learned how to jump with the rope and doing tricks at the same time. One of the tricks we have done is jumping and going side to side at the same time. Also we have done going back and forth with a single jump or the double jump. A single jump is when you have to jump very fast like the boxers. A double jump is when you jump wait and jump again. We have also done other tricks while jumping. For example, we have done scissors, it is when you jump and open up like scissors. Another trick we have done is open, close. open, and then close. It is when you jump and open your legs and then close them again.
I have learned a lot in jump rope. The first thing I learned about jump rope was that there are tricks you can be doing while jumping. I also learned the kind of tricks you can do with the jump rope and without the jump rope. The kinds of tricks I learned in jump rope is how to do scissors, open and close, back and forth, and side to side. Some of the tricks were hard, but after practicing and practicing I got the hang of it. The hardest ones to do for me were the scissors and the open/close one. This is what I learned about jump rope and the tricks you can do while jumping.

Lacrosse
The unit we are learning right now in PE is lacrosse. Lacrosse is easy, but at the same time hard. We were learning how to catch and throw a ball. We had to get a partner and then practice how to catch and throw. After we learned how to catch and throw, we had to practice how to make a goal in the goal. We practiced by one of the person to be the goalie and the other person had to try to throw the ball into the goal. After we learned how to throw the ball in the goal we finally played a game of lacrosse. The first game we played was really fun. I couldn't make any goals, but our team won and lost many games. Also we played with the team that also lost and that time we won them.
I learned a lot about lacrosse. The first thing I learned about lacrosse, was how to throw. We had to throw in a certain way so the other person could catch it. I was pretty good at throwing, but at catching I was not really good at it. my partner and I couldn't catch, but we could throw. I also learned how to make a goal while the goalie is trying to block the ball. It was easy when we were practicing, but when we played the real game, it was a little hard. I also learned how to be a goalie. I was scared because the balls hit hard, but I managed to block them with my stick. This is what I learned in lacrosse.

Gymnastics
In Gymnastics we are learning how to do a hand stand and a head stand. What we always do first in gymnastics are warm- ups. The warmups we do are calf raises, jumping jacks, and a snake jog. After we do the warmups, we go inside a little room and start our basic steps on how to do a hand stand. The first thing we do, is we stretch out our legs and reach for them. The we different kinds of rolls. The rolls we do are the log rolls, half rolls, and the tuck rolls. After we have done all of the rolls, we practice the things we have learned. We have learned how to do a frog stand which is where it helps you practice to balance your weight. We have also done the head stand and the hand stand. After we have done all of those things, we would practice how to do the head stands and the hand stands. We have a spotter to look if we are doing the correct things we are supposed to do.
I learned how to do the hand stands and the head stands. I also learned that you need a lot of effort to balance yourself before doing a hand stand/ head stand. Also learned all the basic warm-ups before doing a hand/ head stand. I also learned that for the hand/head stand you need to know how to hold your own weight and how not ot fall. Ms. Cliff told us that when you do a basic frog stand, to get down you have to push your fingers back, so you won't have to fall in a different way. The tools we used for this unit was our hands, heads, and all of our effort to hold our own weight.

Swimming Unit
In PE, the unit we are doing right now is swimming. In swimming, we are seperated in groups. The first group is the group that knows how to swim in the deep. The other group is the group that doesn't know how to swim. The last group is the one that kind of know how to swim. I'm in the group that people kind of know how to swim. In swimming we first do freestyle from the rear to the middle. Then we come back and do backstroke. At first it is hard, but then you will get the hang of it. After we do freestyle and backstroke, we do frog swim. This swimming lesson is when you get your leg out then you put it back in. Every Friday we have free swim. In free swim we can get on the diving board. Mostly the people who know how to swim can get on the diving board. The swimming unit lasts for 4 weeks.
In swimming unit I learned how to swim a little. I also learned how to do a backstroke. At first it was hard, but then I got the hang of it. I also learned how to freestyle across without touching the floor. Also I learned how to float. When I first knew how to float I was so happy. Also I was happy when I could swim without problems. Before we had swimming classes, I was scared that we had to know how to swim, but after Ms. Cliff told us that there was going to be different groups I was relieved. I also learned how to swim with my head down and then breathe to the side. Also I learned how to keep my feet to the ground for one minute in a half.
My connection for this project in PE is when I went to the pool at my apartments, I didn't know how to swim. When I went to the deep, I had to hold on the rear so I didn't drown. I also remember that when I wanted to swim, I would sink into the water or didn't move. When I didn't move, or I sank I got so frustrated that I would make a temper. After a few days I asked my dad if he could teach me how to swim. At first he said yes and so the next day we went to the pool. At first I couldn't swim, so I got frustrated and didn't want to swim anymore. The unit in PE helped me really much and I learned how to swim.
