In science, we are learning how to use a microscope. We are learning the parts of a microscope and what each part does. We are also learning the rules for how to hold a microscope correctly. We have used the microscope for a project. First we had to know how the objective lenses worked. After we have learned how the objective lenses work. we could use the microscope. We first had to get a piece of glass and put a piece of newspaper. After that, you would add two drops of water and cover it with a cover slip. Then you would take it and put it on the stage. You would turn on the microscope and you would move the coarse or fine adjustment knob. You would also move the objective lenses to see which one you can see a better view on it.
We also did a project on glogster. For the glogster, the title for it was "The Six Characteristics of Living Things". For the glogster we had to add 3 images, 3 videos, and 3 links. We also had to add a paragraph for each topic. We could add frames to the images and the videos. We could also add effects to the images or the titles. For our glogster, we had to add our name, period, title, links, videos, images, and six paragraphs. After we have completed the glogster we would save and mark it as finished private. After you have done that, Ms. Poole would give a grade to it.

Glogster Domains and KingdomsIn this project we did a Glogster on the Domains and Kingdoms. We first had to choose the background for the Glogster. Then we had to add paragraphs of the topics Mrs. Poole told us to do. The topics were Domains Archaea, Eukarya, and Bacteria. Then Kingdoms Fungi, Protista, Plantae, and Animalia. We had to add 3 images, links, and images. For the topics we had to write one paragraph about that topic of what you know about it. After we have written down the paragraphs, you can start adding images, videos, and links. You have to have at least 3 of each. You can choose any image, but it has to represent the paragraph you wrote about. After you have added the images, you can now add links. The links are helpful because when someone wants to learn more about the topic they read, they can click on a link and will take them to read more about the topic. After you have added the links it is time to add videos. To add videos, you can either put a link to a video or just add the video to the Glogster. After you have done all of the things, you are going to publish it as Finished.
In this section, I learned a lot of the 3 Domains and the 4 Kingdoms. I learned that only one domain has the 4 kingdoms and that is Domain Eukarya. Domain Eukarya has 4 kingdoms and the 4 kingdoms are Fungi, Protista, Plantaea, and Animalia. I also learned that each one has its own information that is very helpful to understand. I also learned how to add images, links, and videos to Glogster. This is what I learned in this Glogster project. |
The Edible Cell Project
The edible cell my group and I did
In Mrs. Poole's class, we did the edible project. What we had to do is to plan what kind of food each cell part will be. Our group had to agree who brought this and that. Also, we had to bring food that can represent the part of the cell. After we have planned our cell, we could then get the stuff we needed for the cell. When it was time to build our cell we only had 20 minutes to build it. Also, we had to label the parts and know what each part does and why is it important to the cell. After we have built t the cell, Mrs. Poole will come over take a picture and ask each one of us a question about the part she gives us. If we get it right, we get points for our table and then we get to eat it. The cake was really good and the rest of the cell was really good. The picture on the left was the cell my group, and I built.
I learned how the cell inside is really like. I also learned why the cell parts are important and what each one does. I also learned that we did a lot of stuff to build the cell. For example, we all learned how to cook, do art, drafting, and building. These are some stuff we learned from doing this project. The tools we used this project were food and labels. The last thing I learned from doing this project was that we all worked together and did a good job.

Glogster Six Characteristics of Living Things The project we are doing right now is called Glogster. In the Glogster, we are supposed to put on the six characteristics of living things. We are supposed to add three images, three videos, and three links. We are also supposed to add a paragraph to each characteristics. The six characteristics are living things have cells, living things sense and respond to change, living things have DNA, living things use energy, living things grow and develop, and living things reproduce. For each topic we are supposed to add a short paragraph, an image, a link, or a video. In the Glogster, you can change the background, you can add text, and choose a frame for your picture. You can also change the sides of your Glogster. You have to include all this to earn a good grade. That is all about the project we are doing in science.
In this project I learned what was Glogster. I also learned that it requires a lot of patience to upload your pictures, videos, and links. I also learned that in a Glogster you can change the background, you can choose your image, you can decorate it however you want, and how to upload pictures and videos. I also learned how to add effects to the images. Also, I learned how to add text and how you can choose your own background to the text. This Glogster taught me how to decorate a page. It also taught me how you can use your creativeness and your knowledge with uploading images and videos. This project reminded me of how in elementary school we used to do a lot of projects on computers. One project we did was on the computer. We had to create a page about us. We had to include images and videos, but not links. It was a little bit like the one we did on Glogster in science. We also had to include small paragraphs about what we like, our favorite color, our pets, what is our favorite food, and what is our favorite sport. The tool we used for this project was Glogster. I learned that in Glogster you can add images, videos, and links. Mr. Kimbley was the one that talked about it with Ms. Poole and us. I also learned that in Glogster you can add text and add a background to the text. I also learned that Glogster I can add a background to the back and a background to the sides. It was fun working on Glogster. |
